Making Their Mark: How Millennial Lawyers Could Reshape the Industry
As the oldest millennials turn 40 this year and increasingly move into the partnership ranks, this generation’s influence is being felt in the legal industry more than ever before.
Many of this generation graduated law school during the height of the Great Recession, and these lawyers are now poised to play a key role in reshaping the operations of the industry as it begins to emerge from the pandemic lockdown.
To help law firms better understand evolving workplace dynamics, we have partnered with our friends at Major, Lindsey & Africa for the third time to dig deep into the cultural changes that this generation has brought to law firms.
Some of the findings in the report include:
- 50% of respondents report they want to make partner (either at their current firm or another firm)
- Dissatisfaction with work/life balance was the most important reason for openness to a new job opportunity
- 57.32% of respondents reported that they strongly agree that it is important for their firm to have a flexible work from home policy.
